(Not offered in 2014-15) An examination of why the economic fortunes of cities rise and fall and what can be done to redevelop urban areas and improve their long-term vitality. Varied perspectives are considered and recent revitalization efforts in Schenectady, Saratoga Springs, and the Capital Region are analyzed. Prerequisite(s): ECO 101
