SPN 403 - The “Second Sex” in Latin America: Women’s Writing in the Twentieth Century

(Not offered 2014-15) This course will focus on the ways in which female writers have expressed their struggle against powerful patriarchal systems, and how they have worked and continue to work toward gaining an equal voice in the literature of the Americas. Readings include narrative, theater and poetry by well-known and lesser-know women writers from various Latin-American countries. Prerequisite(s): Two 300-level courses. CC: LCCS
