ATH 325 - Acting Shakespeare

Course Units: 1
(Offered in 2017-2018) The demands of Shakespeare in performance in this class will include active work on scansion, verse structure, rhetoric, language imagery, as well as text analysis and character analysis in a professional discipline of role preparation and rehearsal process for individual (monologue) and partnered (scene) work. It is assumed that the student taking this course is prepared and willing to challenge him/herself in order to become an expressive, creative and informed Shakespearean actor. A variety of contemporary methods of actor training will be reviewed and used as a process of performance preparation. Prerequisite(s): ATH 112  or permission of the instructor. CC: LCC, HUM
