HST 143 - Entrepreneurship in Medieval and Renaissance Europe

Course Units: 1
(Not Offered this Academic Year) Examines the meaning and impact of entrepreneurship during the 500 years (or so) prior to the rise of modern capitalism in the early modern era. Takes a broad view of entrepreneurship as the ability to perceive opportunities that others cannot see and to exploit those opportunities by combining resources and expertise to achieve a particular end. Economic entrepreneurs get most, but not all, of the attention.
