AMU 220 - Music and CultureCourse Units: 1 (Same as ANT 274 ) (Winter; Matsue) This seminar explores the relationship between music and culture through live performance, discussion, video and audio, and workshops in a variety of world music areas. Students will also consider how one conducts research on performing arts, culminating in a focused project on music-making in the community. Students thus will encounter diverse peoples and their musical practices in cross-cultural comparison while also exploring research methodology through their own work. Prerequisite(s): AMU 101 , AMU 120 / ANT 148 or permission of the instructor. CC: LCC, HUM
