(Winter, Kuhn) Developments in modern theoretical approaches to language literature, and culture. Focus on the relationship between various formalist approaches to texts (new criticism, structuralism, and post-structuralism) and more historical or cultural approaches (Marxism, new historicism, and “cultural studies”).
