EGL 265 - Jewish Women WritersCourse Units: 1.0
(Winter: Lewin) A study of Jewish women’s writing particularly concerned with how the question of religion complicates women writers’ representations of gender, nationality, class, sexual orientation, and ethnicity. Texts range from the 17th-century first recorded autobiography by a Jewish woman to 21st-century novels in English and in translation. Pre-registered participants’ interests will influence the final selection of texts. Prerequisite(s): One 100-level English course or a score of 5 on the AP English Language or Literature and Composition test. CC: HUL, HUM
