BIO 328 - Evolutionary Med and Genetics Course Units: 1 This course will discuss the role of evolutionary biology in modern medicine. Our goal will be to study how modern population genetics inform us about the evolution of infectious disease, human genetic disorders, cancer and aging, mental disorders, and ultimately the tradeoff between reproduction and death. We will discuss the genetic and evolutionary framework for these problems, understand their heritability, and study how the modern human environment has altered and shaped our evolution.
