HST 136 - Historical Injustices Course Units: 1 In this course, we will explore efforts to address moments of harm in the history of the United States through law, economic reparations, commemoration, public history, and other means. Focusing on four key topics-slavery and racial violence, land dispossession and reclamation for indigenous people, Japanese internment during World War II, and gender-based discrimination-we will ask how the study of history and historical memory can be used to address injustices in the past.
