HST 104 - Race/Ethnicity/Immigration Course Units: 1 Between the end of the U.S. Civil War in 1865 and the Civil Rights era of the mid-twentieth century, numerous transformations reshaped understandings of belonging in the United States. Focusing on the key themes of race, ethnicity, and immigration through primary and secondary source readings, thoughtful discussion, and independent research, students in this course will gain a deeper understanding of this pivotal time period in U.S. history and of its legacies for the present day.
