AVA 252 - Experimental Printmaking

This course explores the abundant possibilities of monotypes and collagraphs. Distinct from intaglio and relief, these experimental techniques develop images through the direct application of ink and plate construction. The delightful process offers an intuitive approach, evoking notions of drawing, painting, collage, and sculpture. Course includes demonstrations, lectures, class critiques and direct, hands-on practice. Previous experience in analog art is highly recommended. Prereq/Corequisite(s): AVA 150 , AVA 251 , or permission of the instructor. CQ: HUM
