PHY 199 - Mathematical Methods: Thinking Like A Physicist Course Units: 1 Students will gain experience with problem solving in physics, applying different mathematical tools to perform in-depth analyses of various physical scenarios. Applications will be drawn from classical mechanics, electromagnetism, thermal physics, and modern physics. Specific mathematical concepts covered will include analyzing functions, approximation techniques, differential equations, Fourier analysis, probability theory, and complex numbers. Prerequisite(s): PHY 171
