Requirements for the Interdepartmental Major in Spanish, Hispanic, and U.S. Latino Studies

A minimum of 8 courses, including  two classes numbered 250-299; two classes numbered 300-399; two classes numbered 400-499 (one of which is either a WS or SPN 489   for Honors); and two electives, including at the SPN 200, SPN 201, SPN 250-299, SPN 300-399, or SPN 400-499 levels. One of the electives can be a LACS-designated course, an HLE course (taught in English), or a mini-term to a Spanish-speaking country. We highly encourage students to go on a mini or full term to Spain or Argentina (all coursework on terms abroad can count toward the major). Students may consult their Spanish faculty advisors for additional options.
