(Not offered in 2013-14) Advances in technology have been utilized by scientists and physicians for many centuries. Today, with the rapid developments in molecular biology, the technology often outpaces the understanding and acceptance of the public. This course will look at technological advances relating to biology from both a historical and modern perspective, with an emphasis on how molecular biology has revolutionized our lives. Medical, environmental, and industrial topics will be included. Not open to biology majors. (SET). Fulfills CC science requirement (no lab).
