GEO 112 - Environmental GeologyCourse Units: 1 (Fall; Frey) Basic geologic concepts are used for understanding a variety of natural and human-induced geologic hazards that directly affect people. This course examines the nature of various natural hazards including earthquakes, volcanoes, landslides, floods, and coastal erosion. Also examines the interplay between human activities and the environment, such as soil and groundwater contamination, solid-waste disposal, resource development; the geologic record of global change, and the debate over global warming. Prerequisite(s): Preference given to first and second year students. Corequisite(s): GEO 112L CC: SCLB
