Course Units: 1
(Fall; Alakson) One purpose of this course is to help you better understand the role of race in the legal, constitutional, and political history of the United States. Focusing on racial issues, this course examines the historical context in which the Constitution of the United States was drafted and ratified and explores the various methods by which its meaning has changed since 1787. Therefore, it is course about both race in America as well as the Constitution and Constitutional interpretation.
