AMU 221 - From Rhythm and Blues to Radiohead: The History of Rock & Roll

Course Units: 1
(Spring; Matsue) Explores the historical development of Anglo-American rock-and-roll through lecture, video and sound recordings.  This course will rely heavily on film, with an accompanying series featuring documentaries, concert films, musicals and more.  Students will gain a greater understanding of the socio-cultural contexts that informed stylistic change, as well as consider the continued relevancy of rock today.  Prerequisite(s): No Prerequisite.
