AMU 214 - RomanticismCourse Units: 1.0 (TBD: Staff) European art music of the nineteenth century saw the development of countless individual musical styles, as opposed to the more homogeneous sounds of previous generations. Through listening exercises, study of scores, and historical documents students learn to distinguish characteristics of music written by composers such as Chopin, Schubert, Clara and Robert Schumann, Verdi, Wagner, and Brahms, among others.
