PSC 371 - Civil Rights and Civil LibertiesCourse Units: 1.0 (Not Offered this Academic Year) Considers the protections afforded to individual rights and liberties by the U.S. Constitution and the Bill of Rights. Topics include freedom of speech and assembly, the right to privacy, religious freedom, equal protection and discrimination, and the due process rights of those accused of crimes. The course proceeds mainly through close examination of Supreme Court cases, considered in their political, historical and legal context. Prerequisite(s): PSC 111 or PSC 112 or sophomore standing.
