SOC 285 - Food, Nutrition and SocietyCourse Units: 1.0 (TBD: Staff) In this course we will explore the social construction of food and its emotional and cultural meaning. How do social structures, such as education, affect how we eat? Included in the topics addressed in this course are how gender, culture, socio-economic status, ethnicity, and media affect our food choices, nutrition, health and health care system. Prerequisite(s): SOC 100
