AAH 286 - Art and Religion of the Silk RoadCourse Units: 1.0 (Not Offered this Academic Year) Central Asia - broadly defined as the area occupied, from East to West, by present-day western China, Mongolia, Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, northern India, Pakistan, Tajikistan, Afghanistan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, and Iran - has been characterized as both harsh wasteland and cultural crossroads.
