AAH 265 - Environmentalism and Globalization in Contemporary Art Course Units: 1.0 (Not Offered this Academic Year) This course examines artistic practices that meld science, aesthetics, and politics in imaginative and critical ways as they address environmentalism and globalization. The course primarily focuses on 21st century artists whose work takes on such subjects as pollution, biodiversity, sustainability and climate change. We will consider the blurring of the boundaries between art and activism and the many art genres and strategies used to address these issues from photography and sculpture to community collaborations and public art.
