ANT 205 - Men and Masculinity Course Units: 1.00 (Fall: Khan) This course examines the construction of gender through the study of men and masculinity. The primary focus of gender studies has been on women and femininity but in recent decades scholars have increasingly emphasized that gender is a relational construct and cannot be understood without also examining men and masculinity. In this course we examine how male roles are defined across societies and how men must live up to and abide by different ideals of masculinity. Understanding this gives us insign into crucial social issues related to family, religion, politics and economy. CC: LCC, SOCS, JCHF, JSPE
