AVA 310 - Experimental Drawing

This course is for students with previous drawing experience who wish to subvert the standards of conventional drawing by placing focus on the act rather than the product. Through experimenting with non-traditional materials, provocative exercises, and conceptual challenges, students will expand the act of drawing to echo their aesthetic interest and spark play. They will develop a personalized practice through daily artistic exercises that result in unpredictable discoveries and expand their notion of art making. Projects will experiment with materials, space, and time. Prerequisite(s): AVA 110 , AVA 210 , AVA 212 , AVA 215 or permission of the instructor. CC: HUM
