MLT 240 - Resilient Voices in Ukrainian Literature: Defiance, National Identity and Triumph Over Imperial Arrogance Course Units: This course explores Ukrainian literature’s engagement with two of the United Nations’ global challenges: human rights and refugees. We focus on the history of human rights and refugees in Ukraine and explore issues of empire and nation in Ukrainian authors’ lives and works. We also discuss contemporary women Ukrainian writers’ documentation of human rights violations and the plight of refugees amidst Russia’s war on Ukraine.
