GEO 204 - Modeling the Earth Course Units: 1 Models of the Earth system are the principal tools that provide predictions about how Earth responds to perturbations of both anthropogenic and natural causes. In this course, we will cover physical, chemical, biological, and societal concepts that form our current understanding of the Earth system. We will take these conceptual models and create predictive
models of Earth’s subcomponents including the atmosphere, land, oceans, and cryosphere. We will explore the interactions across the different subcomponents and quantify feedbacks that can amplify or dampen climate. Prereq/Corequisite(s): Any 100 level GEO, CHM, BIO, PHY, ESC, or ENS course. ISP: ENS, STS
