SPN 424 - Imaginarios urbanos: Interventions in the Latin American City Course Units: 1 This course explores Latin American cities as sites where artists engage with public space in order to both call attention to injustices and experiment with practices of modifying urban life. These interventions respond to the conditions that shape each city to reveal the power relations at work. Students will examine and analyze efforts to reimagine a more democratic city as presented in short stories, stencil, graffiti, installations, escraches, photography, street theater, and teatro de la invasión.
