ATH 242 - Introduction to Dramaturgy

The course explores the practice of dramaturgy and the various functions currently performed by the artist/scholar identified as “dramaturg” including research, dramatic criticism/interpretation, new play development, marketing and educational outreach, and textual analysis/editing/adaptation. The class focuses primarily on production dramaturgy, but will briefly address new play dramaturgy/literary management. CC: HUM, WAC-R
