PSC 207 -  Gender Studies in International Relations

Course Units: 1
In today’s interconnected world, where gender equality remains a contested and evolving issue, it is vital to understand how power structures perpetuate or dismantle inequalities. This course emphasizes critical engagement with concepts such as gendered violence, representation, intersectionality, and feminist international relations theory, encouraging students to analyze the historical and contemporary roles of women and marginalized gender identities in public and political spaces. Together, we will explore the ways in which gender intersects with power, politics, and institutions and analyze its impact on the global political landscape. By the end of this course, students will develop informed perspectives on the ideas, structures, and practices that sustain or challenge gendered inequalities.
