Requirements for the Interdepartmental Major:
Students taking physics or astronomy as part of an 8-6 interdepartmental major program can choose from either a conceptual or a calculus track. Suitable choices of courses numbered in the 50s, as well as independent study courses 495-498, can count toward the conceptual track ID major (such as Arts and Physics or Physics and Society). Suitable choices of courses numbered 100 or greater can count toward a calculus track ID major (such as Computational Physics, Biophysics, Geophysics, Environmental or Chemical Physics). For any of these ID majors, a written proposal must be submitted by the student, in consultation with their faculty advisor, for approval by the Department of Physics and Astronomy.
Requirements for the Leadership in Medicine Program:
Students in the Leadership in Medicine program whose science emphasis is in physics should take the following seven courses: PHY 110 , PHY 111 (both already core courses), PHY 122 , PHY 123 , PHY 200 , PHY 210 , and one additional course from PHY 220 , PHY 230 , PHY 270 , PHY 310 , or PHY 311 in consultation with their physics adviser.
