This course, offered on the India term abroad, takes a broad perspective on the relationship between culture and work. Course readings, assignments and discussions, will prompt students to consider how work activities are shaped by culture and the larger social context by examining: I) institutional cultures involving idiosyncratic authority structures, routines, shared knowledge and so on; ii) how local cultures are influenced by their place in larger international production chains.
