HST 336 - The Roosevelt EraCourse Units: 1 This course will focus on major interpretive issues that surround the presidency of Franklin Delano Roosevelt. We will study how historians have disagreed, over time, on issues such as: Was FDR a raving radical or the best friend of big business? Was the New Deal a good deal or a raw deal for African Americans? Was World War Two a “good war”? Could FDR’s administration have done more to prevent the Holocaust? This is a reading-intensive, discussion-centered class that requires active student engagement.
